HARRISBURG – Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) earlier today announced his retirement from public service. In response, Rep. Torren Ecker (R-Adams/Cumberland) issued the following statement:
“Speaker Turzai has shown tremendous leadership throughout his long career serving the people of Pennsylvania. In his various leadership positions, he reached across the aisle and worked with governors from both parties to help move Pennsylvania forward.
“As a freshman policymaker, I learned a great deal from the speaker, who provided guidance and mentored me during my first term representing the people of the 193rd District. I wish Mike and his family the best as he begins to write the next chapter of his life.”
