HARRISBURG – Earlier today, Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) announced his retirement from public service. In response, Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton) issued the following statement:

“I want to wish the Speaker the best in his retirement from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Mike has been a mentor to so many legislators throughout his tenure and I count myself among that number. I came into the House when Mike was the Majority Leader and his leadership has been strong and consistent. He has advanced a strong, pro-growth agenda and Pennsylvania has benefited from the governmental reforms that were instituted during his time as both leader and speaker. Serving alongside Speaker Turzai has been an honor and I am proud to call him a friend.”
