HARRISBURG – Rep. Martin Causer (R-McKean/Cameron/Potter) issued the following statement in response to Speaker of the House Mike Turzai’s (R-Allegheny) announcement that he will retire from the state House next week.
“I have had the honor of serving with Speaker Turzai throughout my tenure in the state House.
“One of the things I have appreciated the most about him has been his willingness to take up issues of importance to our rural communities. He always had the desire to learn more about the challenges we face in rural PA – even traveling to the district several times –and a genuine interest in working with other lawmakers to tackle those challenges.
“Mike is one of the hardest-working members I have ever encountered in state government. His passion for and commitment to the Commonwealth will be deeply missed. I wish him and his family all the best as he begins a new chapter in his professional life.”
