WHAT: The House Children and Youth Committee, led by Rep. Kathy Watson (R-Bucks/144th), will hold a public hearing to examine the impact of the devastating opioid and heroin epidemic on infants and children.

Those expected to offer testimony include: Dr. Kim Costello, director of Neonatology, St. Luke’s University Health Network, and member, PA Chapter of American Academy of Pediatrics; Dr. Amanda Flicker, Pennsylvania Section of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists; Ashlee Homer, pediatric acute care registered nurse, Penn State Hershey Medical Center, and member, PA State Nurses Association; Dr. Lily Higgins, medical director of AmeriHealth Caritas’ Keystone First Medicaid Health Plan; Kim Rogers, administrator, Washington County Children and Youth Services; Cathy Utz, deputy secretary, PA Department of Human Services, Office of Children, Youth and Families; and Cathleen Palm, founder, Center for Children’s Justice.
