HARRISBURG – Rep. Mike Reese (R-Westmoreland/Somerset) issued the following statement today after Gov. Tom Wolf eased spectator restrictions at sporting events.
The announcement comes roughly two weeks after his veto of
House Bill 2787, which would have established that decisions about school sports and activities, including policies regarding spectators, are made at the local level. The bill originally passed the House and Senate with overwhelming bipartisan support.
“While I am happy that more families will be able to unite to watch their loved ones engaged in school sports and activities, I am frustrated by Gov. Wolf’s nonsensical actions. Fall sports have been ongoing for several weeks and had the Administration been more responsive, this could have and should have been addressed in August.”
