HARRISBURG – Rep. Lee James (R-Venango/Butler) issued the following statement regarding tonight’s failed veto override of House Bill 2513, which would have allowed Pennsylvania restaurants and the hospitality industry to operate safely and have a better chance of survival: “The cooler weather is on its way to the Commonwealth, which means that outdoor dining will not be an attractive option for many people. Our restaurants are going to be even more challenged.

“Tonight’s vote was supposed to give them some hope, a way to safely get through this pandemic. Unfortunately, too many representatives changed their votes, and our override attempt was unsuccessful.

“I continue to be very concerned about so many Pennsylvanians: small business owners, restaurant workers, people in the hospitality industry and so many more. I will keep working to try to help them, and I hope my colleagues will join in that effort.”
