WHAT: The House and Senate Agriculture and Rural Affairs committees, chaired by Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter) and Sen. Elder Vogel (R-Beaver/Butler/Lawrence), will hold a joint informational meeting to examine dairy industry issues, including
House Bill 1265, at Penn State’s Ag Progress Days.
WHO: Causer, Vogel and members of the committees, as well as the following presenters: Agriculture Secretary Russell C. Redding; Dr. Charles Nicholson, clinical associate professor, Penn State Smeal College of Business; Rep. John Lawrence (R-Chester County), sponsor of House Bill 1265; Rick Ebert, president, Pennsylvania Farm Bureau; Christian Herr, executive vice president, PennAg Industries; Tom Wegner, director of governance and leader development, Land O’Lakes; Kirk Sattazahn, director of marketing, Select Sire Power, and board member, Professional Dairy Managers of PA; Justin Risser, dairy farmer and president, Professional Dairy Managers of PA; and Rob Barley, dairy farmer, Star Rock Farms, Lancaster County.
