HARRISBURG – Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) was sworn in for the 2021-22 Legislative Session Tuesday.

Benninghoff resides in Bellefonte and was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1996. During his time in office, he has prioritized state cancer research initiatives, modernizing adoption laws and ensuring the people of the 171st District have a strong voice in state government.

Benninghoff has served in various leadership capacities including being selected by fellow House Republicans to serve as House Republican Policy Committee chairman and House Republican whip.

Last June, Benninghoff was elected by his fellow House Republicans to serve as House majority leader. He was reelected to that position for the coming 2021-22 Legislative Session this past November.

On being sworn in, Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) made the following statement:

“I am humbled to have once again received the support of my neighbors in Centre and Mifflin counties to serve another term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives and am eager to get to work on their behalf.

“As we begin a new session, while it may seem like we have many challenges before us, what we really have are many great opportunities to make Pennsylvania better.

“I am excited to get to work for the people of the 171st District and help make Pennsylvania the envy of the East.”
