HARRISBURG - Rep. Joe Kerwin (R-Dauphin/Schuylkill) was sworn in today to represent the people of the 125th Legislative District.

“I was 19 when I swore allegiance to the Constitution and the United States of America for the first time,” Kerwin said. “Now, nearly a decade later, I stand again to reaffirm that allegiance to our state and federal constitutions. These are documents which I have studied, sworn to protect, and revere. I am humbled by the opportunity to continue to serve as the new State Representative for the 125th Legislative District. I will represent you and your families with a fierce loyalty to our district and a solemn obedience to our God-given rights and sacred American values. Today, like all days, I am proud to be an American and a Pennsylvanian.”

Rep. Kerwin looks forward to beginning his legislative career where his family roots run deep, throughout Dauphin and Schuylkill counties. Joe is a graduate of Upper Dauphin Area High School, Penn State University and Penn State Dickinson School of Law. Since 2012, he has served in the Pennsylvania National Guard and is an infantry officer with the 56th Stryker Brigade. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School and Army Airborne School. Prior to his election to the House of Representatives, he served as deputy district attorney for Dauphin County.

The 125th Legislative District is comprised of part of Dauphin County, consisting of the townships of Lykens, Mifflin, Washington, Wiconisco and Williams and the boroughs of Berrysburg, Elizabethville, Gratz, Lykens, Pillow and Williamstown. The district also includes part of Schuylkill County and consisting of the city of Pottsville (Wards 03 and 07) and the townships of Barry, Eldred, Frailey, Hegins, Hubley, North Manheim, Norwegian, Pine Grove, Porter, South Manheim, Tremont, Upper Mahantongo, Washington and Wayne and the boroughs of Auburn, Cressona, Landingville, Pine Grove, Schuylkill Haven, Tower City and Tremont.
