HARRISBURG – Rep. Lori Mizgorski (R-Allegheny) has been reappointed to four House committees for the 2021-22 Legislative Session. Those committees are Transportation, Labor and Industry, Local Government and Urban Affairs.

“I am pleased to be reappointed to the same committees so I can continue my work on addressing the transportation needs of Pennsylvanians, tackling unemployment compensation issues and passing legislation that helps local governments,” said Mizgorski.

The Transportation Committee focuses on bridge and highway safety and maintenance, rail issues, funding and other transportation issues.

The Labor and Industry Committee focuses on issues impacting jobs across the state. This committee deals with issues such as unemployment compensation, job training, child labor laws, workers’ compensation and the Prevailing Wage Act.

The Local Government Committee reviews bills that would amend the municipal codes by which local governments operate. This would include legislation related to local government purchases, real estate assessment policies and statewide pensions for municipal police officers.

The Urban Affairs Committee reviews legislation that affects the state’s largest cities including housing; urban redevelopment; economic development; land use planning and zoning; growth management; and infrastructure financing.

“Last year had struggles that impacted all four of these areas in our Commonwealth,” concluded Mizgorski. “I am looking forward to addressing those issues and coming up with solutions to make our future better.”
