HARRISBURG – State Rep. Keith Gillespie (R-Hellam) today announced that he has been reappointed to serve as chairman of the House Game and Fisheries Committee during the 2021-22 legislative session. Gillespie will also serve on the House Professional Licensure Committee.
“I’m very happy to continue my chairmanship of the Game and Fisheries Committee as we work to support the interests of the many hunters, anglers and boaters across Pennsylvania,” said Gillespie. “Our natural waterways and robust wildlife are a substantial component of Pennsylvania’s massive tourism and travel industry, and the work we do helps to ensure that they remain so.”
The Game and Fisheries Committee works with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) and the Pennsylvania Game Commission to address legislation and issues involving hunting, fishing, trapping and boating. Recently, the committee worked on legislation to allow the PFBC to set its own licensing fees.
The House Professional Licensure Committee has oversight of issues within the Department of State as well as various health and business boards throughout Pennsylvania. Its work consists of setting and amending professional licensure statutes throughout the Commonwealth with the goal of easing access to successful careers.
