HARRISBURG – After voting today in Harrisburg against a tax-hike bill that would cost taxpayers more than $750 million by increasing taxes on cigarettes and other tobacco products, taxing digital music and movie downloads, and raising or enacting several other taxes, state Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) issued the following statement:

“This is an irresponsible tax hike that many Pennsylvanians simply can’t afford.

“This tax hike will chase jobs away from our communities and discourage companies from locating or expanding in Pennsylvania.  Individuals and businesses avoid high-tax states and this will make the problem worse.”
