HARRISBURG – Rep. Jerry Knowles (R-Berks/Carbon/Schuylkill) remains optimistic that Pennsylvania voters could have the opportunity to vote on reducing the size of the state House of Representatives. This measure he supports would allow voters their constitutional right to decide if the House should consist of 203 or 151 members. Knowles made the following statement:

“I am continuing to do everything I can to get this measure to the people for their vote. If we return to session in the coming weeks, I am hopeful that we can bring this bill up for a vote and the required referendum can be on the ballot this fall. If we don’t have the opportunity to pass this bill over the summer, which would be ideal, we could still vote on it in the fall and have it be on the primary ballot in the spring.”
