HARRISBURG – A familiar face to followers of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives is parting ways with chamber but does so with support and friendship from both sides of the aisle. Speaker of House Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) recognized Chief Clerk Dave Reddecliff on his retirement and his nearly 40 years of service to the Pennsylvania House, including the last five years as Chief Clerk.
“As we bid you farewell, I want to sincerely thank you, on behalf of all the members, for your outstanding and selfless service to the House of Representatives,” Cutler said in remarks on the House floor. “Thank you for making this institution a better place and for positively impacting so many lives. You will most assuredly be missed.”
Cutler highlighted Reddecliff’s 38 years as an employee of the House, starting in a district office in Indiana County before moving to Harrisburg to work in the House Republican research staff. He went on to work for numerous caucus leaders including Reps. Harry Bowser, Howard Fargo, Dave Argall and Speaker Mike Turzai.
A leader always open to new ideas and perspectives, Reddecliff made substantial strides in reducing costs associated with the chamber, improving work areas for staff and most recently, overseeing a multi-month project to turn previously unused space into committee meeting spaces.
A devoted husband and father, Reddecliff’s impact on the House will be felt for many years to come, and Cutler wished him well in his future endeavors.
