HARRISBURG – House Appropriations Committee Chairman Stan Saylor (R-York) today announced the opening of a federally funded relief program for performance venues, museums and movie theaters:
“We have heard from many operators of small and large performance venues, museums and movie theaters who have not been eligible for previous COVID-19 relief programs and have struggled due to shutdown requirements,” said Saylor. “We encourage such venues to make use of this resource and apply for relief funding. Ultimately, we look forward to these venues being fully reopened as they provide educational and cultural experiences that enhance the quality of life for families throughout Pennsylvania.”
The Shutter Venue Operators Grants (SVOG) were established under the American Rescue Plan, and $16.2 billion has been allocated to the program. Applicants can apply for 45% of their 2019 gross revenues, up to $10 million. If they received a Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loan, the SVOG will be reduced by the PPP loan amount.
The grant is being administered by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and applicants
can register here.
