HARRISBURG – Speaker of the House Mike Turzai (R-Allegheny) issued the following statement today in response the Senate’s unanimous vote sending
Senate Bill 1221, reforms to the Pittsburgh Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority (ICA), to the House:
“We applaud the good work of Sen. Jay Costa, Sen. Wayne Fontana and President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati in bringing needed transparency to the work of the ICA,” said Turzai. “As Speaker, I fully support this measure and will help to ensure that the bill gets to the floor of the House for a vote expeditiously.
“The ICA has been a vital part of the city’s ongoing road to fiscal recovery, and I am pleased to see language which would ensure the continuation of the ICA for the duration of Act 47 oversight.”
