HARRISBURG – Rep. Gary W. Day (R-Lehigh/Berks), chairman of the House Aging and Older Adult Services Committee, toured the Medicare- and Medicaid-funded Senior LIFE Program in Berks County with House colleagues.

“Senior LIFE facilities offer an alternative option for older Pennsylvanians to help them enjoy their best years at home,” said Day. “This tour today showed the great care and services that they have to offer. Through in-home and personal care services, Senior LIFE creates plans to assist our seniors to meet all their needs. These facilities have done their due-diligence during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide the utmost care for our seniors during these difficult times we have all faced. It is critical that members of the aging committee and our fellow house colleagues see the impact of the services that we have oversight over as we continue to ensure those in Pennsylvania who have taken care of us, receive the support and care they deserve.”

Senior LIFE offers essential care to seniors for every aspect of their life whether it is social, physical, transportation or medications. With Medicare and Medicaid coverage it is free to low-income seniors. If not Medicaid eligible, there is a private pay option.
