WHAT: The House Education Committee, chaired by Rep. Curt Sonney (R-Erie), will hold a voting meeting to consider three proposals on a variety of education topics. They include measures that would instruct the Joint State Government Commission to conduct a study on the current shortage of school bus drivers and provide recommendations to address it (
House Resolution 15); create the Select Committee on the Jobs of the Future to investigate, review and make findings and recommendations regarding opportunities for the development of new industries, including advanced manufacturing (
House Resolution 60); and create the Secondary Education Fire Training Pilot Program and establish the Fire Training Fund (
Senate Bill 83).
