HARRISBURG – Rep. Brian Ellis (R-Butler) made the following statement on Wednesday after Gov. Tom Wolf announced he will allow the General Assembly’s latest budget to become law:

“Today, the governor announced he will be accepting the General Assembly’s latest attempt to complete the 2015-16 state budget. Seeing how it’s now nine months overdue, I am very glad he has finally come to the realization that the people of Pennsylvania do not want a budget which includes massive tax increases. The next big task ahead is negotiation the 2016-17 state budget, and I am hopeful that it will be a much smoother process than this one was. The people of Pennsylvania do not deserve to be held hostage by the governor as they were throughout this year’s budget process.”

The balanced $30 billion supplemental budget restores funding to schools, corrections and agriculture without broad-based tax increases.
