HARRISBURG – After learning the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court today dismissed the acting secretary of Health’s school masking mandate, local state Rep. Ann Flood (R-Northampton) released the following statement:
“Today’s court decision striking down the statewide mask mandate is a victory for students and parents across Pennsylvania. This ruling will return the decision-making authority to local communities where it belongs.
“Rather than working with the General Assembly in a bipartisan manner, the governor and his administration have continually attempted to sidestep the Pennsylvania Constitution. The administration’s one-size-fits-all school mask mandate was ill-conceived and ignored the will of people in communities across the Commonwealth. I wish the administration would learn from this ruling and change its course, but we’re already hearing they plan to challenge the court’s decision.”
