HARRISBURG – Rep. Karen Boback (R-Lackawanna/Luzerne/Wyoming), majority chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, today welcomed the Pennsylvania Wing of the Civil Air Patrol to the Capitol in Harrisburg to recognize its 80th anniversary.
“I was proud to be sworn in today as a Major in the legislative squadron of the Pennsylvania Wing of the Civil Air Patrol,” said Boback. “It is such an honor to celebrate its 80th anniversary. As a strong arm of the United States Air Force, our Civil Air Patrol stands ready during times of need, assisting with search and rescues and working dutifully during the COVID-19 pandemic, in its longest sustain operation since World War II. The men and women of our Pennsylvania Wing of the Civil Air Patrol and their cadets are second to none, and we offer them best wishes for continued growth and success in years to come.”
