HARRISBURG – The Pennsylvania House of Representatives this week passed a package of bills that would stand up for public safety officials and help ensure Pennsylvania communities are protected from crime and unnecessary violence.
The package of bills passed today, include:

House Resolution 111 – Legislation that would require the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing to conduct a study into the investigation, prosecution and sentencing of violations of the Pennsylvania Uniform Firearms Act of 1995.

House Bill 773 – Legislation that would protect families and drivers from repeat DUI offenders.
•
House Bill 1546 – Legislation to provide confidentiality of personal information for public safety officials.
•
House Bill 2039 – Legislation to assert a victim’s right to testify at a bail hearing.
On the passage of these bills, Pennsylvania House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) made the following statement:
“This week, the Pennsylvania House Republican Caucus led the chamber in passing substantive legislation that protects communities and constitutional rights.
“This package of bills, taken in their totality, is a continuation of House Republican priorities of standing up for the rights of Pennsylvanians, emboldening families and giving additional tools to law enforcement to keep communities safe.”
