HARRISBURG – Following passage of House Bill 1801, which would restore funding to K-12 education, agriculture, corrections and health services cut when Gov. Tom Wolf issued a line-item veto of the 2015-16 budget in December, Rep. Russ Diamond (R-Lebanon) issued the following statement:

"Tom Wolf has manufactured a phony crisis to try to leverage support for massive tax hikes. While his administration sends letters to school districts instructing them how to shut their doors, billions sit in the state treasury just waiting to be released to school districts. Enough is enough already. The Legislature has moved to restore Wolf's $3.15 billion in education cuts. The governor needs to accept the fact that his political gamesmanship has failed. He needs to sign this bill into law, ensuring that classrooms stay open through the end of the school year. It’s time to get to work on next year’s budget."
