Mar. 14, 2016
WHAT: The House Gaming Oversight Committee will hold a public hearing on legislation that would fix the Small Games of Chance Act, making tavern gaming more accessible and profitable for Pennsylvania’s small business owners.
Act 90 of 2013 authorized taverns to conduct three small games of chance: daily drawings, raffles and pull-tabs. The new gaming option was expected to generate $156 million in ongoing tax revenue from an estimated 2,000 licensees. Tavern owners have since testified that unintended issues in the 2013 law have resulted in fewer than expected license applications.
WHO: Payne, tavern gaming fix legislation sponsor Rep. Kurt Masser (R-Columbia/Montour/Northumberland) and members of the House Gaming Oversight Committee.
WHEN: Tuesday, March 15, at 9 a.m.
WHERE: Room G-50 Irvis Office Building
State Capitol Complex, Harrisburg
