HARRISBURG — Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) issued the following statement in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s 2022-23 budget proposal:

“The final budget proposal under Gov. Wolf continues more of the same – the same old budgeting process with astronomical spending increases. Every year the governor delivers a budget address around the same time, which is followed by several weeks of budget hearings by both the House and Senate Appropriations committees. After that, budget negotiations essentially stop for two to three months, and then are jammed into June, usually the last two weeks before the budget is due. Rinse and repeat. This process is broken and nothing but political theater that all of the state’s residents are forced to endure.”
