HARRISBURG – During his final budget address to the Legislature, Gov. Tom Wolf again proposed an unrealistic spending plan, this time to the tune of $43.7 billion. In response, Rep. Jesse Topper (R-Bedford/Franklin/Fulton), vice chairmen of the House Appropriations Committee, issued the following statement:

“While the governor delivered his spending plan to the General Assembly today, I am looking forward to the upcoming House Appropriations Committee’s budget hearings, which begin next week, to start the real budget process.

“Exorbitant spending like he has proposed will leave us in a more difficult economic position moving forward. We need to be prudent, especially with the one-time federal dollars that will be received over the next two years.”
