HARRISBURG – State Rep. Jeff Wheeland (R-Lycoming) issued the following statement on Gov. Tom Wolf’s final budget address:

“Again, for the eighth year, the governor has proposed significant increased spending that will cause damage for Pennsylvania. The plan proposed would hurt Pennsylvania’s working class and our economy.

“Each year, my colleagues and I rework his excessive spending by looking at real legitimate numbers and focusing on targeted investments that will help the Commonwealth’s future. The governor’s final address confirmed that he does not understand our initiative and policies to help Pennsylvanians.

“Because of our leadership and standing up to the governor’s previous budget plans, the Commonwealth is now on a solid financial footing. Gov. Wolf continually takes credit for our achievements, but enough is enough. He cannot buy a gubernatorial legacy.

“Moving ahead, I will continue to stand up for our taxpayers, our children and continue to grow our economy. The folks of Pennsylvania deserve that support.”
