HARRISBURG – On Wednesday evening, the state Senate approved House Bill 1460, a full-year state budget plan that would spend $30.26 billion. The budget will soon be sent to Gov. Tom Wolf for his signature.

“I applaud the Senate for voting in favor of this reasonable budget plan that originated in the House,” Kaufer said. “This is a bipartisan, responsible budget that continues to adequately fund our schools and our nonprofits. After the holiday, it’s time to get back to work in Harrisburg to address the issue of high property taxes, and make some positive changes for the people of Pennsylvania.”

The House Bill 1460 spending plan includes:
• $100 million increase for Basic Education Funding.
• $50 million increase for Ready-to-Learn Block Grants.
• $25 million increase for Pre-K Counts and a $5 million increase for Head Start. This will help to serve an additional approximately 3,500 children.
• $30 million increase for special education.
