HARRISBURG – Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) and 100 of his colleagues today sent a letter to Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf, urging him to reverse his controversial decision to continue accepting Syrian refugees in the Commonwealth following the terrorist attacks in France.

“Pennsylvanians are counting on the governor to put their needs above the desires of foreign refugees,” Jozwiak said. “The safety of Pennsylvanians should come first. I urge the governor to reverse his decision.”

Following the terrorist attacks in France on Friday, Wolf announced he would continue to work with the administration of President Barack Obama to resettle Syrian refugees in Pennsylvania.

The letter notes governors from at least 26 other states announced they will not accept Syrian refugees.

“The governor’s decision could leave Pennsylvanians unprotected against an impending threat,” Jozwiak said. “I believe our state and federal governments should take this opportunity to reconsider immigration policies by placing the needs of Pennsylvanians and Americans first.”

A copy of the letter signed by Jozwiak and his colleagues that was sent to the governor is available at RepJozwiak.com.
