HARRISBURG - Rep. Carrie Lewis DelRosso (R-Allegheny/Westmoreland) joined in supporting a package of bills designed to combat blight across the Commonwealth. Several bills passed unanimously out of the House Urban Affairs Committee today:
•
Senate Bill 439 would continue the County Demolition Funding Program.
•
House Bill 1791 would authorize municipalities to create a vacant and blight property registration program.
•
House Bill 2209 would allow a land bank board to establish a virtual quorum via internet platform to conduct a board meeting.
•
House Bill 2210 would add a provision to the Abandoned and Blighted Property Conservatorship Act for a land bank to be appointed conservator.
“Last year, the Urban Affairs Committee toured the 33rd Legislative District’s blighted areas,” said Lewis DelRosso. “This is an issue that affects communities all over the state associated with economic downturn. I am eager to advocate for these bills to be signed into law.”
All bills now await consideration by the full House.
