HARRISBURG – Local state Rep. Kurt Masser (R-Columbia/Montour/Northumberland) today in Harrisburg joined a majority of his colleagues in the House by voting to support a balanced state budget bill that increases investments in key initiatives. Masser issued the following statement after the vote:
“This state budget makes key investments in the education of Pennsylvania students by boosting state funding for schools while also increasing a tax credit program that enables parents to send their children to the school of their choice.
“The budget also will help some of our most vulnerable residents by expanding the relief available through the state Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program.
“The state spending plan also for the first time includes money for the brand new Pennsylvania Child Care Tax Credit to provide support for the Commonwealth’s working families.
“The budget includes the single largest investment in a generation to support environmental programs aimed at ensuring Pennsylvanians have access to clean air and water.
“This budget makes some key, targeted investments while also protecting taxpayers now and in the future.”
