HARRISBURG - Rep. Bud Cook (R-Washington/Fayette) had the opportunity to speak at the Pennsylvania Restaurant and Lodging Association’s (PRLA) Tourism Summit, held at the Harrisburg Hilton on Wednesday, Oct. 26.
As the secretary of the House Tourism and Recreational Development Committee, Cook was happy to share his knowledge of Pennsylvania’s second-leading industry with attendees. Cook stated, “Our Commonwealth has some amazing attractions, activities and assets that would draw a crowd. Most people know of our big attractions, such as sports stadiums and nature trails. Now, we as a society must figure out how to effectively promote all the little things that make our state so cool.”
"The PRLA Tourism Summit is an annual event that brings together Pennsylvania's travel and tourism industry to discuss current trends, challenges and ideas impacting efforts to attract visitors to the Commonwealth,” said PRLA President and CEO Joe Massaro. “PRLA and our members really appreciated hearing from Rep. Cook, who discussed how the industry can more effectively advocate and engage our elected officials regarding their priorities and concerns. Big thank you to Rep. Cook for his continued support of PA's tourism and hospitality sectors."
