HARRISBURG – State Rep. Brad Roae (R-Crawford/Erie) today voted for a state budget bill approved by the House that would fund the core functions of government without further burdening Pennsylvania taxpayers.
“This budget protects the wallets of Pennsylvania taxpayers,” said Roae. “We approved a balanced budget that does not include any new or increased taxes.”
The House-approved budget bill would allocate $30 billion to fund state government programs and services.
The state fiscal year ends at midnight on Tuesday, June 30. Legislators in the House and Senate are working to adopt a new budget before the deadline.
“If the Senate approves the budget bill and the governor signs it into law, Pennsylvanians will have a new state spending plan in place before time runs out,” said Roae.
The budget bill now heads to the Senate for consideration.
