HARRISBURG – Rep. Barry Jozwiak (R-Berks) today in Harrisburg voted for a balanced, on-time state budget that was approved by the House and now makes its way to the state Senate.

“This is a state budget that protects taxpayers,” Jozwiak said. “The budget holds the line on spending while funding the core functions of state government.”

The $30 billion spending plan is balanced and includes no new or increased taxes.

The state fiscal year ends at midnight on Tuesday, June 30. Legislators in the House and Senate are working to adopt a new budget before the deadline.

When he took office, Gov. Tom Wolf promised a “government that works.”

“A government that works requires a budget that’s signed,” said Jozwiak. “I encourage the governor to deliver on his promise by signing the budget into law when he receives it.”
