HARRISBURG – Rep. Cris Dush (R-Jefferson/Indiana) today announced that House Bill 1114, which would designate the Route 3007 bridge over Redbank Creek in Jefferson County as the Summerville Veterans Memorial Bridge, has passed the House unanimously.

“A borough resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, contacted me and expressed his desire to pay tribute to all of our hometown veteran heroes, as well as all the brave men and women who served or are currently serving our nation, from Summerville Borough and all of Jefferson County with this designation,” said Dush. “As a veteran myself, it is my hope that the designation of this prominent bridge in our community will be a daily reminder for many to be grateful for the sacrifices of our neighbors who have selflessly served to protect our freedoms.”

House Bill 1114 now goes to the state Senate for its consideration. If enacted, signs noting the designation will be placed on both sides of the bridge.
