HARRISBURG – Rep. Dane Watro (R-Luzerne/Schuylkill) will host a hearing conducted by the House Republican Policy Committee to discuss legislation that would provide historic tax cuts to working families in Pennsylvania.
The hearing, led by committee Chairman Joshua D. Kail (R-Beaver/Washington), will take place on Monday, June 17, at 1 p.m. at the Hazle Township Municipal Building, 101 W. 27th St. Members of the public are encouraged to attend.
The hearing is the second in a series that focuses on the House Republican tax cut plan (
House Bill 2388) that would reduce the Personal Income Tax and eliminate the Gross Receipts Tax on electricity.
“If signed into law, our proposal would be the largest-ever tax cut for working families in Pennsylvania,” said Watro. “Next year alone, it would mean an extra $1.3 billion in their pockets.”
Among those scheduled to testify are two local residents – Nicarol Soto, a mother of two, and McAdoo Councilwoman Mary Labert, who will discuss the impact of the proposed tax cuts.
