On June 5, Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) took the oath of office to become the state representative from the 48th Legislative District. His wife, Julia, held the Bible.
HARRISBURG – Surrounded by wife, Julia, and their two children, Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today took the oath of office to represent the people of the 48th District in Washington County. He is committed to working to properly fund addiction treatment, create and protect jobs, improve infrastructure and reform state government.

“It is an honor to have been elected to serve the residents of the 48th Legislative District in Harrisburg,” O’Neal said. “I pledge to be their voice and make sure their concerns are heard. Pennsylvania is good place to live, work and raise a family. I look forward to making it even better.”

“I am excited for Tim O’Neal to join the House of Representatives,” House Speaker Mike Turzai said. “Tim’s leadership in the National Guard and his desire to serve others in his community will help make him a great Representative for the people of the 48th House district.”

A life-long resident of southwestern Pennsylvania and 1998 graduate of Jeannette High School, O’Neal holds a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After graduation, he served on active duty in Afghanistan, rising to the rank of captain. While in combat, he was awarded the Bronze Star with “V” for valor. After his military service, O’Neal earned a master’s degree in business administration from University of Pittsburgh’s Katz Graduate School of Business. He currently works as a human resources director for a construction company.

O’Neal’s district office will be opening shortly to assist constituents with state-related concerns or problems. At these sites, visitors will find information on the latest legislative developments in Harrisburg, state programs and the latest happenings in the 48th District.

The 48th Legislative District in Washington County includes the city of Washington; Chartiers, North Franklin, North Strabane and South Strabane townships; and Canonsburg, East Washington and Houston boroughs.
