HARRISBURG – Rep. Charity Grimm Krupa (R-Fayette) has been appointed to serve as Republican secretary of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee.

“As a proud member of a military family, I can’t overstate how honored I am to be appointed Republican secretary of this distinguished committee,” Grimm Krupa said. “We are one of the true bipartisan committees in our closely divided House because we recognize how important our veterans and first responders are to our communities, Commonwealth and country.”

“I am enormously pleased to partner with Rep. Krupa in leading the Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee,” said Mark Gillen (R-Berks), Republican chair of the committee. “My friend and colleague has a heartfelt passion for serving our men and women in uniform, whether they are in the armed forces or among our first responders.”

The House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee is responsible for oversight of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency, as well as the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services.
