WHAT: Members of the House and Senate will be joined by dozens of EMS personnel from across the Commonwealth at a press conference to rally support for legislation to increase reimbursements for services provided by ambulance companies. The specific focus will be on
House Bill 699, which would increase Medicaid reimbursement rates, and
House Bill 1013/Senate Bill 1003, which would require reimbursement for treatment provided when no transport takes place.
WHO: Rep. Martin Causer (R-Cameron/McKean/Potter), prime sponsor of House Bill 699; Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee and prime sponsor of House Bill 1013; Rep. Chris Sainato (D-Lawrence), Democrat chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee; Sen. Don White (R- Armstrong/Butler/Indiana/Westmoreland), chairman of the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee and prime sponsor of Senate Bill 1003; Dean Bollendorf, president, Ambulance Association of Pennsylvania; Bob Marnatti, manager, Ridgway Ambulance Service; Robert Sorg, general manager, St. Marys Area Ambulance; and Bill Hagerty, president/executive director, EmergyCare Inc. Additional lawmakers and EMS personnel will also be on hand.
