WHAT: Rep. Steve Barrar (R-Chester/Delaware), chairman of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, will hold a committee meeting to vote on two pieces of legislation:
  • House Resolution 1112 would beseech the federal government to recognize the importance of durable, flood-resilient infrastructure.
  • House Bill 2696 would amend the Pennsylvania National Guard’s College Education Assistance Program (EAP) under Title 51 (Military Affairs) to allow the spouse or child of an eligible guardsman to use the guardsman’s college tuition assistance program funds for a college education, instead of the soldier using the funds. This provision would mirror recent changes to the federal Post 9/11 GI Bill Education program.
