HARRISBURG – State Rep. Kerry Benninghoff (R-Centre/Mifflin) today in Harrisburg took the oath of office to serve the residents of the 171st Legislative District during a new two-year term.
“I’m honored to represent the people who live and work in Centre and Mifflin counties,” Benninghoff said. “I will continue to work hard to ensure their voices are heard in Harrisburg.”
The new session will bring new responsibilities for Benninghoff. His colleagues in November selected him to serve as chairman of the House Majority Policy Committee.
As chairman, Benninghoff will travel across the state to conduct hearings about important issues, gather testimony and information from key stakeholders and work with his colleagues in the House Republican Caucus to develop policies to address those issues.
“I’m excited about this new opportunity,” Benninghoff said. “I look forward to meeting residents from across the Commonwealth, listening to their issues and working to enact policies that will improve Pennsylvania.”
The Majority Policy Committee chairmanship is one of a number of leadership positions which are decided by a vote of the Republican members in the House.
