HARRISBURG – Rep. Tim O’Neal (R-Washington) today issued the following statement on Gov. Tom Wolf’s $34.1 billion budget proposal for fiscal year 2019-20:

“I was pleased to hear the governor propose no broad-based tax increases in the plan he outlined today, and we need to hold him to that. In the coming months, we need to work in a bipartisan manner to craft a budget that is responsible to the taxpayers of our Commonwealth.

“I have concerns about the severance tax for infrastructure improvements that the governor unveiled last week. In addition to the fact that the industry already pays an impact fee, the plan would float a bond that would affect future state budgets.”

“While I took office near the end of the state budget process last year, it was a very eye-opening experience. I’m eager to dive into the details of the governor’s plan and participate fully this year.”
