WHAT: The House Labor and Industry Committee will hold a public hearing to review House Bill 1909, legislation authored by state Rep. Kristin Phillips-Hill (R-York Township) that addresses a flaw in worker’s compensation coverage for members of Pennsylvania’s emergency responders. The bill was prompted by an incident involving the member of a local fire company who was denied coverage following an accident at a local carnival.

WHO: In addition to Phillips-Hill, testifiers at the hearing will include representatives from the insurance industry and Pennsylvania Association of Township Supervisors.

WHEN: Tuesday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m.

WHERE: Room G-50, State Capitol, Harrisburg.
