HARRISBURG – Rep. Jim Marshall (R-Beaver/Butler) today issued the following statement in response to Gov. Tom Wolf’s state budget address:

“Unfortunately, the governor didn’t really go into too many details about his proposal. I was disappointed to hear him repeat the myth that a loss of federal stimulus dollars four years ago was a cut to education funding and skim over the fact that Pennsylvania already has an impact fee in place on the natural gas industry. He seemed more focused on giving a political speech than a budget address.

“The good I got out of the governor’s budget address was his commitment to investments in workforce development. In southwestern Pennsylvania, we are already doing that. We have a really cooperative relationship between our community college and other higher education institutions and our job creators who are working to help train workers for the jobs that exist now but aren’t being filled.”
