HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Kaufer (R-Luzerne) announced today that he was appointed to serve on the House Finance Committee’s Select Subcommittee on Tax Modernization and Reform.
“As a member of the House Finance Committee, this appointment is a great honor,” Kaufer said. “There is no tax as antiquated as the property tax structure in Pennsylvania. I look forward to addressing this issue, as well as coming up with common-sense solutions.”
The subcommittee is tasked with investigating and reviewing Pennsylvania’s tax laws, examining other states’ best practices and methods for levying and collecting various taxes, and developing recommendations to encourage equitable and fair tax policy.
Kaufer will serve on the select subcommittee for the remainder of the 2018-19 House session and the 2019-20 session.
“I look forward to serving on the Select Subcommittee on Tax Modernization and Reform as it further amplifies the voices of the residents of the 120th District,” Kaufer said. “I come to the subcommittee with a mission to make the Commonwealth more affordable and more competitive for businesses to operate
