WHAT: The House Children and Youth Committee, led by Rep. Kathy Watson (R-Bucks/144th), will welcome Auditor General Eugene DePasquale, who will brief the committee on his office’s special report on Pennsylvania’s struggling child welfare system. The
“State of the Child” special report is an 80-page critical assessment based on a year-long review of the child welfare system.
The report contains seven general observations and 17 recommendations for improvements. The auditor general’s report builds on the examinations of the system that the Children and Youth Committee has focused on in public hearings in recent years.
