HARRISBURG – Rep. Jonathan Fritz (R-Susquehanna/Wayne) announced that his legislation,
House Bill 2105, was voted out of the House State Government committee unanimously.
This legislation, if enacted, would eliminate state boards and commissions which have been underused, outdated, have failed to meet for years and, in most cases, no longer issue reports for the public to see any progress in their work. This proposal is a part of a six-bill package that looks to reinvent state government and make it a point to not waste taxpayer money on items or initiatives that do not serve a meaningful purpose.
“This legislation is an important stepping stone for our state government as it aims to remove several state boards and commissions that prove to be no longer useful, which will allow our state government to save taxpayer money,” said Fritz. “I would like to thank my colleagues who serve on the House State Government Committee for their bipartisan support of my legislation. "Cleaning out the closet, so to speak, and streamlining government is not a partisan issue. It's just common sense.”
This bill now moves to the House floor for further consideration.
