PITTSBURGH – Rep. Lori Mizgorski (R-Allegheny) announced that Speaker of the House Mike Turzai has selected her to serve on the Port Authority of Allegheny County’s board of directors.

“I would like to thank Speaker Turzai for selecting me to serve in this role,” said Mizgorski. “After serving in local government for nine years, I know how important our public transportation is and the critical role it plays for our residents who rely upon it most. I am eager to take on this new role.”

The new role will give Mizgorski more oversight of public transportation issues pertaining to Allegheny County, the second largest public transit agency in Pennsylvania.

The Port Authority’s board of directors is made up of 11 unpaid, volunteer members who are appointed by Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, both parties in the state House of Representatives and Senate, and Gov. Tom Wolf.
