HARRISBURG – Rep. Tarah Toohil (R-Luzerne) has been selected to serve in a leadership position for the nation’s oldest non-partisan organization addressing the needs of elected women at all levels of government.

Toohil was recently appointed to serve as the 2019 Pennsylvania state director for the National Foundation for Women Legislators (NFWL).

“I am honored and excited to be appointed to this position within NFWL’s leadership and to help my colleagues in Pennsylvania learn about this great organization,” said Toohil. “This opportunity aligns perfectly with the mission of encouraging more women to step in to elected leadership roles in our state.”

Elected women from across the country will gather in San Antonio, Texas, on Nov. 18-21, for NFWL’s 2019 annual conference to identify effective solutions to some of the nation’s most timely and pressing issues. Fostering a non-partisan environment that encourages dialogue and the sharing of information and experiences, women leaders are able to build coalitions, share the concerns of their constituents and identify out-of-the-box solutions to the most pressing issues facing their communities today.

“We are so proud Rep. Toohil has accepted a leadership position in our foundation,” stated New Jersey Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso, NFWL’s 2019 chair. “NFWL’s theme for 2019 is leadership, and Rep. Toohil exemplifies this theme. She will play a key role in aiding women legislators in Pennsylvania, as we continue grow as an organization.”

Toohil will hold this office through the end of 2019.
