WHAT: The House Children and Youth Committee, led by Rep. Kathy Watson (R-Bucks/144th), will hold a voting meeting to consider
House Bill 2641 (sponsored by Rep. Todd Stephens, R-Montgomery), which would increase the penalties for mandated reporters who continue to fail to report suspected child abuse and broadens the “continuing course of action” provision; and Senate Bill 1129 (sponsored by Sen. John DiSanto, R-Dauphin/Perry), which would expedite the procedures for the relinquishment or termination of parental rights in the course of the legal process to adopt a child in Pennsylvania.
